The history of this retirement home begins in 1987, when two members and one of their son saw the great need that Marbella had, in those days, of having a place to look after our elders. With much effort, dedication, hours and hours of work and without the help of institutions they managed to open this retirement home in Marbella.
In our center, many people from Marbella and the surrounding areas have passed. We have not only taken care of our people, we have also received with the same affection, foreign residents who needed it and who will need it.
The retirement home el Carmen began with 7 rooms, since we have been growing slowly, expanding and adapting to the rules required by the Junta de Andalucía and the City Council in each of the stages by which has passed.
The first enlargement we did was ten more rooms and then in a second extension we reached the 59 current rooms. The rooms are double or single and we still feel great need to continue expanding and improving in the coming years in order to provide a good service to people who need it in the Costa del Sol. Mother and son who embarked on this exciting activity years ago still continue today.
